One of India’s top research facilities is the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, which was founded in 1909. It is located in Bangalore and covers 440 acres. Popular undergraduate programs offered by IISc Bangalore include B.Sc. (Research) and B.E./B.Tech. Courses at the postgraduate level include M.E./M.Tech., M.Sc., M.Des., and M.Management. Additionally, the institute provides integrated programs in a number of subjects, including M.Sc. + Ph.D. and Ph.D. Both the QS World Rankings and the Times Higher Education Rankings place IISc in the top 100, with the QS World Rankings placing it 100th and the Times Higher Education Rankings placing it 99th in the engineering category. It also has the top spot in the 2025 NIRF rankings. IISc Bangalore charges between ₹75,800 and ₹8.36 lakh for undergraduate courses and between ₹43,400 and ₹5.18 lakh for postgraduate studies. National-level tests such as JEE Main/Advanced or KVPY for Bachelor of Science degrees and GATE, JAM, JEST, CEED, or UGC NET for Master of Science degrees are required for admission to IISc Bangalore. This year’s GATE applications are now closed. The exam will take place in February 2026, and applications for the following year will be accepted during the final week of August. JoSAA counseling is still being provided based on JEE Main/Advanced scores. On the official JoSAA website, candidates can view their results.
